Sustainable Botanical Extraction:
Creating New Value in Agriculture Together

Our Vision

In modern industrial processing, green chemistry has evolved from an option to a necessity. Extraction solvents are integral to the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, agrochemical, chemical, and biotechnology industries. CHLOEX Biotech’s innovative green solvents are natural solutions designed to meet both technical and economic demands, aligning perfectly with the core principles of green chemistry.

With the trends of an aging population and growing awareness of health and wellness, alongside the rise of green consumerism, the development of functional botanical ingredients and eco-friendly solutions has become a priority for advanced nations. High-value health-focused botanical raw materials are now at the forefront of the global health industry, driving the rapid growth of botanical extracts in food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and personal care products.

In Taiwan, agricultural challenges such as small-scale production and high costs limit productivity. Chloe Biotech addresses these constraints by transforming health-promoting plants into “standardized” botanical ingredients that meet the needs of modern wellness and healthcare. By utilizing patented ultrasonic green extraction technology combined with multifunctional applications and efficacy validation, we aim to propel the local botanical health industry forward while accelerating its globalization.

Our Thechology

Functional plants contain numerous bioactive compounds beneficial for human nutrition and wellness, collectively referred to as “phytochemicals.” Examples of these include plant pigments (such as anthocyanins, lutein, and lycopene), phenolic compounds, organosulfur compounds, and saponins. Phytochemicals are known for their physiological activities, such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-radiation, and anticancer properties. Thanks to their safety and efficacy, they have found widespread applications across pharmaceuticals, health supplements, agriculture, and cosmetics.

These beneficial plant-derived active ingredients are extracted from natural sources. However, the extraction process is influenced by multiple technical factors, including the production method, raw material source, and choice of extraction solvents. Traditional extraction techniques often require large quantities of organic solvents, are energy-intensive, and time-consuming.

As a result, green extraction technology has gained significant attention in recent years from both academia and industry. This innovative approach focuses on developing natural solvents and techniques that eliminate the need for organic solvents, reduce energy consumption, save time, and promote sustainable plant growth. By minimizing the economic and ecological impact of the extraction process, green extraction technology helps protect the environment and conserve natural resources while supporting the advancement of health and wellness industries.

Our Busniess Model

CHLOEX Biotech focuses on the development of green technologies, dedicating its efforts to applying green solvents and processes in plant extraction. By considering the polarity and solubility of various plant-derived bioactive compounds, the company has developed a series of green solvent formulations tailored to different plant materials. These formulations are designed to isolate specific plant components, such as polysaccharides, essential oils, proteins and peptides, plant pigments, and various phytochemicals.

In addition, CHLOEX Biotech employs specific probiotic strains to perform biotransformation on plant extracts obtained using green solvents. This approach enhances the application and product development potential of green solvent-based extracts. The entire production process adheres to the high standards of green technology, emphasizing environmental safety, non-toxicity, and sustainability.

This innovative method not only preserves the bioactivity of plant extracts but also improves their bioavailability, making them more readily absorbed by the human body. Through these advancements, CHLOEX Biotech is setting a benchmark for environmentally friendly and highly effective plant extraction technologies.

United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal framework of 17 interconnected goals established in 2015 to address global challenges and achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030. These goals aim to balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

The European Union’s environmental policies and regulations aim to reduce the use of petrochemical solvents and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Therefore, Croi Biotechnology develops new, environmentally friendly, and adjustable solvents that meet both technical and economic needs. This is one of the key areas in green chemistry, with the main goal of reducing the use of harmful substances, lowering energy consumption, and promoting the use of more renewable resources. In addition, green solvents have significant potential in the extraction of high-value secondary metabolites in the food and pharmaceutical industries. They have been used to extract plant health ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic acids, saponins, phenolic compounds, peptides, plant pigments, and essential oils.

Building a Localized Functional Plant Extract Industry Chain in Taiwan

Currently, most plant-based ingredients used in health products in Taiwan are imported. At CHLOEX Biotech, we focus on developing localized technologies to provide high-quality, green plant extract raw materials for health and cosmetics manufacturers (including dosage form manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and traditional pharmaceutical companies). Our goal is to localize and produce health and cosmetic ingredients from domestic plants, strengthening Taiwan’s self-sufficiency in plant-based extracts. We collaborate with farmers and agricultural enterprises to expand planting areas, address imbalances in agricultural production and sales, and increase farmers’ income. This initiative aims to achieve the goal of producing homegrown plant-based health materials, while enhancing the value chain of related industries in Taiwan.

We strictly select plant materials with safe and high health-benefit properties from the cultivation and management of health plants. We develop high-activity, antioxidant, and preventive health-functional materials. These plants are processed using green processing methods for preparation and large-scale production. Subsequent cell and animal testing is conducted for efficacy verification, studying their safety and health-improving effects. We conduct high-standard scientific trials to assess their effectiveness on the human body. In the future, we aim to further develop traditional indigenous medicines or new plant-based drugs, continuously innovating and upgrading the value of traditional crops.

As the world moves towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) has become a growing trend. Croi Biotechnology's processes focus on reducing energy consumption and eliminating volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. These efforts not only support Taiwan's agriculture but also reduce reliance on imported raw materials, subsequently lowering the carbon emissions generated during the transportation of these materials, aligning with market and national policy trends. With the global aging population and shifts in lifestyles and healthcare policies, there is increasing awareness of personal health, which is driving stable growth in the global health food market. Croi Biotechnology is committed to developing differentiated green plant extract products, expanding its market presence, and continually seeking "green processes and products" that align with the ESG trend.
